The day the world was going to end.

Picture this... There are 4,700 people sitting in a stadium watching the Ottawa Fat Cats (Clae's team) beat the Kitchener Panthers at around 8 p.m. and BOOM all the sudden all the lights go out! Is it the end of the world?! No way- the groundskeeper accidentally hit the lights therefore making them go out. I did not actually think the world was going to end on that day, it was just a funny coincidence that the lights happened to go out at the approximate time the world was to end. Had the world ended, I would not have been able to share my 1 year anniversary the next day (May 22, 2011) with my wonderful husband!

On a more serious note, many people's world did end with all these tornados hitting the mid-west. My heart goes out to each and every one. Many lost literally everything with their houses just leveled and there are still so many missing. This is one of the saddest things to me. I am more blessed than I could ever know and am reminded of this daily.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to the two best women I know and strive to be like everyday! I love you both more than you will ever know and hope to become half the woman either of you are!!

Ottawa, Canada

I'm the worlds worst blogger, I know, but I have been extremely busy lately! I just wanted to take a moment to brag on the best husband ever!! He just got signed with a minor league baseball team called the Ottawa Fat Cats. It has been his dream to play pro baseball his whole life and although he is not quite in the  big leagues yet, this is one step closer! He left for Ottawa, Canada last Thursday and drove the 21 hours it takes to get there from Butler, GA. I had to work my last week at the bank so I didn't fly in until today. It is very rainy and cold today, but still beautiful! We will be living here until around August 30th. We are very excited to take on this awesome opportunity.

Fat Cats announced today they have signed another power hitting import player, 6-foot four, two-hundred and forty pound first baseman Clae Mathis, of Macon, Georgia. Mathis, 23, hit .360 with seven home runs and 47 RBI’s in 27 games this year with Macon State College. The addition of Mathis at first base will improve the infield play of the Fat Cats with his good glove, large target and defensive range. More impressively, Mathis also possesses above-average major league power to all fields. He had no less than three Independent professional teams seeking his services for this season.

Its Love!

This makes my mundane Mondays so much better! I get so excited!

One of my new years resolutions was to start a blog, or to venture out into something that may not be in my  comfort zone. I am not an avid blogger. I don't know the correct "blog-ettiquitte". This is new adventure, so bear with me.

I've never really made a new year's resolution. I don't know what changed in me this year, except maybe the mayans predicting the world will end in 2012. (Just Kiddin'!) I have high expectations for 2011, so I made quite a few new year's resolutions:
-Start a blog (check)
-read the bible through (did you know if you sat down and read the bible cover to cover it would only take 77 hours and 22 minutes, but wow! Talk about overwhelming!)
-reread all the "classics" we had to read in Literature class. i.e. A Tale of Two Cities, Wuthering Heights etc.
-Fast.
-Visit at least 3 new states (I've already been to 21, pretty impressive, I know) I will not rest until I go to Alaska, not necessarily this year however,  I'm enamored!
-Spend as much time as humanly possible with my family.

My main goal for 2011 is to be Christ to anyone/everyone I come in contact with. I have realized how short life is and how important relationships are. I want everyone I love, and everyone else, to be where I am for all of eternity and I want no regrets. That is my prayer.

So 2011, I know you'll be a great, I can feel it. Heres to a New Year!
